Overview - WLAN Track Wireless LANs are increasingly being deployed throughout China. By the end of 2003, there were about 1,800 hotspots. Growth potential of WLAN in China is expected to be significant. It is believed the market will grow 50% a year through 2006 and the number of hotspots may triple to 6,000 by 2008. High-speed wireless connectivity is not only important as a service to extend mobility but is also an attractive business proposition and a tool for carriers to compete with one another.
