Abstract
Service providers around the globe are focused on IPTV. DSL Forum’s
BroadbandSuite™ develops specification to directly address IPTV/Multi-play
requirements, and considers PON and other last mile access technologies, as well
as goes beyond the Routing Gateways to address the variety of multi-play devices
in the home. This presentation will focus on optimizing the network architecture
to guarantee successful delivery of IPTV, as well as quality of experience for
the customer. It will look at STB initiation and performance. This presentation
will also review the global specifications and interoperability efforts that the
DSL Forum develops.
Speaker Biography
Joining the Forum as Chief Operating Officer in July 2006, Robin is the senior
full time executive. With more than 14 years telecommunications experience,
Robin started in sales and sales management for Cable & Wireless, moved on to
work at BT before meeting his wife and moving to the US in 1999. Most recently,
Robin worked in business development and alliance management for various OSS
software companies in the US. Working in network and service provisioning and
activation for companies like Astracon, TTI Telecom and Evolving Systems, Robin
negotiated and managed several large OEM agreements. Robin is originally from
Cambridge in the UK. He received a B.A. degree (with Honours) from Queen Mary
and Westfield College, University of London in 1992. Robin now resides in North
Carolina.
